Located approximately five hours away from Lima, the picturesque oasis Huacachina is the best for a thrilling adventure.
Derived from the Quechua language, the name ‘Huacachina’ means “young crying woman”. According to a legend, an Incan princess fell in love with a prince, who soon died. Troubled by her grief, the young princess cried tears, that eventually formed into a lagoon.
The Huacachina Lagoon can be found in the center of the oasis and is believed to be therapeutic. Some visitors choose to relax there amidst the swaying palm trees, while others prefer adventure.
