A truly
unique and Eco-friendly urban planning initiative, the circular garden city
consists of clusters of houses, that are strategically arranged to form
circles.
Besides
community gardens around the area, the houses in Brøndby Haveby have
huge amounts of land for yards and luscious gardens. This allows residents to
be surrounded by greenery and peacefully relish the solitude, away from the
loud and busy city life. Residents are also encouraged to indulge in hobbies.
The circular shape was intended to encourage those, who choose to reside in the
garden city to build a harmonious community among each other.
A few miles
away from the city of Dermold, the region of Lippe, Germany, a unique
rock formation: Externsteine, stand like a grand tower-like pillars.
Translated as “stones of the ridge”, these five towering pillars are said to
have been used by mankind for millennia, as mystical spots for Pagan rituals.
They have been carved at by Christian monks and even used by the Nazi party, as
a sacred grove. The origins of Externsteine has often been shrouded in
mysticism and Pre-historic legends, which is why they have been dubbed as Star
Stones.
The iconic
city in the mountains has a historic past, as many of the ancient buildings
have been well preserved for generations. The city was founded by Jews, who
fled from the Spanish during the late 15th century. While there are many
theories as to why the buildings in the city are blue, some say it was ancient
tradition, that had passed on till today. Others argue, that the blue paint is
to keep mosquitoes away. Nevertheless, the vibrant blue paint covers almost
every building in the city. In 1920, the city startad accepting foreigners to
visit.
Located
inside Khao Sam Roi Yot National Park, Prachuap Khiri Khan province,
Thailand, the Phraya Nakhon Cave combines nature’s mystery and wonders. The
cave is known to be a national natural treasure across the North Malay
Peninsula and it is said to have been discovered roughly 200 years ago.
However, as to who discovered it first is debatable. Nevertheless, the cave’s
interior natural beauty is incomparable. As the early morning sunlight hits at
the pavilion, it is illuminated and gives life to lush greenery, that creates
an almost regal sight to behold.
For fans of
classic Western films and cowboy enthusiasts, there’s nothing like a good old
ghost town in the Nevada desert. Located near the Nevada-California border in Esmeralda
County, the quaint town transfers visitors to relive the era of the old
wild west, with authentic buildings rich in history. Known as a silver mining
camp in the early 1860’s, Gold Point was gradually bought up by Herb Robbins
and Walt Kremin in the 1970’s, after striking a lucrative jackpot in Vegas. It
is now fully refurbished and open for visitors to have a taste of the good old
times.
